This file format is JPEG. The top right image is maximum quality, the bottom left image is medium quality and the bottom right image is low quality. the original image was 3.75MB, the size of the maximum quality image is 734.6KB, the size of the medium quality image is 122.6KB and the size of the low quality image is 71.45KB. On the low quality image it is very difficult to see the strings on the balloons as compared to the medium and maximum quality image where they becomes easier to see. Also there is pixilation around the edge of the balloons especially the ones in the foreground of the low quality that gradually decreases as the image quality increases. In the lower quality image the colors aren't as sharp as they are in the higher quality images which is particularly noticeable in the red balloons on the left hand side of the image. the reduction in quality has lead to the file sizes being decreased.
This file format is GIF. The top right image has 256 colors, the bottom left image has 64 colors and the bottom right image has 8 colors. the size of the original image was 3.75MB, the size of the image with 256 colors is 500KB, the size of the image with 64 colors is 241KB and the size of the image with 8 colors is 92.83KB The bottom right image is a lower quality. Because less colors are used the file size is greatly reduced which leads to a large reduction in image quality.

Printing companies used to have to buy multiple sheets of different colour vinyl in order to print what the customer wanted. This would be carried out by using the method of it supposed to have a white background. They would have to use a white baseboard to make the colour fit what would be printed. However in more recent years the industry has evolved to let laser cutters to not only cut the vinyl into the right shape but also print straight onto the vinyl. Vehicle wrapping is also possible because of the developments in the printing world. The Sky TV vans are a great example of this. This is done by printing the design of which ever show they are promoting. It is then wrapped and glued to the van using a strong adhesive. This allows the vans to look more unique and stick in peoples memories.
An inkjet printer originally could only print on paper. But now they can print on a wider range of materials. Work used to be weather proofed by printing it onto a piece of paper and adding a sheet of laminated plastic on top to seal work and protecting it from bad weather. This was then glued to different materials that the customer wanted it attached to. Now inkjet printers can print straight onto the stronger material making it quicker and saving time.
A laser printer works by bonding coloured powders onto a piece of material by using a laser. This means less money is spent on different ink cartridges. The laser printer allows you to print on thicker paper and card. This means if you want your work on card you don't have to print it off and then glue it to the card. The thickness of paper is the main cause of printer jams but the inkjet printer gets rid of this problem. They also allow the user to print onto larger sheets of paper.
3D printing is still under development however it allows people to print 3D objects. This is done through a very complicated process. The graphics industry is greatly affected by the advances in printing technology as the creation of styles of graphics is affected by problems that arise from these new forms of printing. Programs that would be used to make the 3D printing method work would be software like Total CAD, Turbo CAD and Autodesk. All of these allow the user to model imagery in three dimensions. Files from 3D printing software would be much larger as they have to store more data values to accommodate for the different dimensions rather than the two on a normal image. To move the file between workplaces the user would most likely need to use an external data device like a flash drive or even and external hard drive, as most e-mail systems block files over a certain size.

Copyright is a
legal concept that protects the physical expression of ideas. As soon as an
idea is given a physical form for example a photograph of a piece of music it
is protected by copyright. Published and unpublished are protected by
copyright. Copyright is normally owned by the creator of the piece of work for
example the writer or artist. If the work in the course of a persons employment
then the copyright is owned by the employer. The owner of the copyright may
grant someone permission for someone to use or adapt there work. A good example
of this is if an author gives permission for a film or TV adaptation to be made
of their book.
A trademark is a
recognizable sign, design or expression that defines a product of a particular
source from others. The most simple example of this is the apple logo which you
can tell what company it is just from the logo. The owner of a trademark can be
an individual or a company. A trademark may be located on a package, a label,
a voucher or on the product itself. For the sake of corporate identity
trademarks are also being displayed on company buildings.
Intellectual property is a legal
concept which refers to creations of the mind for which exclusive rights are
recognized. Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain
exclusive rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary,
and artistic works, discoveries, inventions, words and phrases, symbols and
designs. Common types of intellectual property rights include copyright, trademarks,
patents and industrial design rights.
